Refood Food Rescue Foundation – Vancouver
Based on a report by the BC Center for Disease Control (BCCDC), about one in nine households (11.8%) in British Columbia are considered food insecure. Refood Food Rescue Foundation is a non-profit charity that responds to this problem by reducing food waste, repurposing unattractive food, and re-educating the public about food.
By partnering with grocers and local non-profit organizations, we serve at-risk populations with surplus food that otherwise would have gone to waste. Since inception, Refood has delivered over 500,000 meals to those in need in the Greater Vancouver area.
Profile / Volunteering position: Volunteer HR Coordinator

Estimated Time Commitment:
At least 4 hours per week, virtual
Mandatory weekly meeting: Mondays 6:30pm to 7pm
Immediate start date; minimum commitment of 3 months is required.
Scope of Work
- Recruitment and hiring. Tasks include posting positions, reviewing resumes, interviewing candidates, hiring
- Ability to compose job profiles
- Updating Standard Operating Procedures and performing tasks related to compliance
- Project management in engagement and retention
- Provide orientation and on-boarding to new volunteers
Desired Qualifications
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work independently with little to no supervision
- Experience in recruitment and hiring
- Skills in engagement and retention programs
- Familiar with relevant employment law
- Professional, organized, and experience in project management
Accountability
The Volunteer HR Coordinator will have end-to-end accountability of HR processes and will report to the HR Manager
